Refund Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Our Returns Policy is in line with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), ensuring your rights as a consumer are fully respected.

General Returns and Refunds
• Return Period: You have the right to return most products within 10 business days of receiving your order, provided the product is in its original, unused condition, with all packaging intact. This is in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.
• Defective or Faulty Products: If your product is defective or faulty, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund within 6 months from the date of purchase. If the fault was present at the time of delivery, we will cover the cost of returning the item and send you a replacement at no additional cost.
• Change of Mind: If you have simply changed your mind, you may return the product within 10 business days for a store credit or exchange, provided the product is still in its unused, original condition with all packaging. Please note that the customer will be responsible for return shipping costs.
• Non-returnable Items: Certain items, such as personalized products or those that have been opened or used (e.g., hygiene-related products), may not be eligible for return or refund. Please ensure that the item you are purchasing meets your satisfaction prior to opening.

How to Return an Item:

To initiate a return, please contact our customer support team at info@techcart.co.za within the allowed return period. We will guide you through the return process, and you may be required to provide proof of purchase (receipt, invoice).

IP Waterproof Ratings and Returns

Certain products, such as smartwatches, earbuds, and other gadgets, may come with an Ingress Protection (IP) rating, which indicates their level of resistance to dust and water. The IP rating is a standard used to classify the degree of protection against water and dust ingress.
• IP Ratings: Products may have an IP rating such as IP67, IP68, or others. These ratings indicate the following:
• IP67: Protected from dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
• IP68: Protected from dust and can withstand continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter (specific depth and duration vary by product).

Important Note: It is important to understand the limitations of the IP rating when making a purchase. IP-rated devices are generally water-resistant, but they are not waterproof. Usage in extreme conditions such as submersion in water beyond the specified limits, or exposure to high-pressure water (e.g., during swimming, diving, or in the shower), may result in damage to the product.
• Exclusions for Returns: If a product’s damage or defect results from improper use or misuse that exceeds the product’s IP rating (e.g., exposing a product to excessive water pressure or submerging it for longer than the specified time), this may not be covered under our returns policy. Ensure you follow the product’s usage guidelines to prevent damage and to maintain eligibility for returns or warranty claims.
